ABOUT BENGALS

The Bengal is a result of Jean Mill's attempts to help save endangered wild cats in the early 1960s. Jean created a domestic variation by crossing a wild female Asian Leopard Cat with a domestic male cat; and this resulted in the breed we know today as the Bengal.

After generations of selective breeding Bengals have attained incredible temperaments. They are intelligent, curious, and often described as dog-like. Bengals are affectionate, and enjoy playing with their human friends. They will fetch, and often, they enjoy playing in water. When it's time for bed, they will follow you: they want to be with you all the time.

Bengals have a unique call that is all their own. Some cats are very noisy and will "cry" for unknown reasons. Bengals do not, but will growl when something has upset them. If you like to spend time talking with your pet, Bengals will often chatter back to you. They have a large repertoire of calls and will show their pleasure by making
 "mm,mmn" sounds when they eat.

From the time I saw my first Bengal, I've been enchanted. Our goal is to produce happy and well-socialized kittens that are the very best example of the breed. We breed for temperament, health, and beauty not sacrificing one for the other. Our bloodlines are from Millwood and Gogees.
